Story
War veteran Sergei Tutarinov, Hero of the Soviet Union , returns after his WWII to his native village in the Stavropol Territory , as he initially believed, for a short while, but after familiarizing himself with the life of the region, he remains to restore the economy that was destroyed during the war. Sergey offers a “five-year plan”, including the construction of a power plant . The chairman of the district executive committee, an old red fighter, opposes, but Sergei is supported by the secretaries of the district committee and the regional committee, his plan is discussed and approved by the working people of the village. Sergey gets the post of chairman of the district executive committee, and, having shown the abilities of a real leader, he achieves success in work. It is not easy to develop his relationship with the girl Irina, with whom he met, returning to the village.
