St. Aubin, Edward

Edward St. Abin (born January 14, 1960 , London , UK ) - English writer and journalist. He is the author of eight novels. In 2006, his novel Mother's Milk was nominated for the Booker Award .

Personal life

Saint Aubin was born in London and grew up in France, where his family had a home [2] . His father, Roger, half Scottish by birth, a former soldier, and then a surgeon. His mother, Lorna, came from a wealthy American family living in Cincinnati. St. Aubin described an unhappy childhood in which he was repeatedly raped by his father at the age of five to eight years with the complicity of his mother [3] .

He attended Westminster School and in 1979 entered the Kable College, Oxford , where he studied English language and literature. By this time he was already a heroin addict. At the age of twenty-five, St. Aubin sought psychotherapeutic help; he later became a professional writer.

Edward St. Aubin has two children and lives in London. He was married to the writer Nikola Schulman ( en: Nicola Shulman ) for some time.
