Biography
In 1914-1918 he studied at the Tartu Higher City School. In 1917-1919 he performed in the choir.
In 1919-1932 he was an actor and director of the Vanemuine Theater in Tartu, in 1932-1941 - the Estonia Theater in Tallinn (now the National Opera "Estonia" ). He raised his creative qualifications in Germany (1928 and 1932), Poland, Hungary and France (1938).
In 1941 left the scene.
Creativity
A major comedian, A. Vaino successfully performed in Estonian everyday plays , dramas and operettas , and children's performances. Juicy folk images created by him were marked by soft humor, life truthfulness.
He successfully starred in the first Estonian films (Young Eagles, 1927; Vahva sõdur Joosep Toots, 1930, Elu tsitadellis, 1947), co-director of the film Do You Know the Earth? (1931, Finland).
