Max Borer ( German: Maximilian Kaspar Anton Bohrer ; September 28, 1785 , Munich - February 28, 1867 , Stuttgart ) - German cellist.
Son of double bass player Johann Caspar Borer (1743-1809). The Borer brothers were also musicians, most notably the violinist Anton Borer . In Munich, studied under the supervision of Anton Schwartz .
Since 1805, Anton and Max Borera have toured a lot together. In the years 1810-1814. their long tours took place in Austria, Poland, Russia, Scandinavia and England, in 1815 in France, in 1820 in Italy, etc. The brothers last performed together in 1842-1843. in the USA.
Since 1830, the soloist of the Stuttgart court chapel. He continued to perform in Europe and after the death of his brother in 1852. In the performing manner, he was close to Bernhard Romberg , who once remarked that if, while listening to Borer's game, he closes his eyes, then he begins to think that he plays himself.
The Great Sonata for cello and piano by Helen Liebman is dedicated to Böhrer.
