Maravaam [2] - a river in the Far East of Russia , flows through the territory of the Iultinsky district of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug .

The length of the river is 98 km, the basin area is 1080 kmΒ² [3] . It takes a source from the slopes of Mount Zubchataya [4] , flows in the latitudinal direction as a whole, and flows into Amguema on the left 184 km from its mouth.
Hydronym
The name is translated from Chuk. Maravvaam is the "evil river." According to local legends, in late winter the Chukchi caravan went under the ice, the surviving people therefore called the river [5] .
