rxvt (from English ou r e x tended v irtual t erminal) [1] is a terminal emulator for the X Window System , written by Rob Nation [2] and extended by Mark Olesen, which accompanied him for several years. rxvt is an extended version of the xvt terminal emulator developed by John Bovey of the University of Kent . The name originally meant “Rob's xvt” [2] , but later came to mean “our xvt” (pronounced English letters rxvt).
