Career
Alberto Terry was born in Lima , in the Miraflores area. When he grew up, he began to lead a street life, including parties, street dances, stakes, alcohol and women. Parents who wanted a good future for their son decided to send him to the Military College [4] . But there Alberto spent a short time, preferring the career of a football player, the career of a professional military man.
He came to the Universitario club in 1947. Initially, in training, he was placed in the position of defender . But when he scored two goals in one of the games, he was transferred to the attack. 10 days after the transfer, Terry made his debut in the main club in a match with Sporting Tabaco [4] . Since 1948, he began to regularly advocate for the main team [3] . The striker quickly became a player of the main team, and after leaving football Teodoro Fernandez was the leader and main star of the team [3] . The soccer player has repeatedly received offers to move from various foreign teams, in particular, from the Brazilian Fluminense , the Argentinean Boca Juniors , the Spanish Barcelona , and the Italian Lazio . But Terry refused all offers, saying: “Nothing will push me away from Lima ... because Lima is more beautiful than Paris ”, Rome and Buenos Aires [3] [5] . In total for the club, the player spent 181 matches and scored 102 goals [5] . In the summer of 1960, Alberto moved to the Sporting Crystal club. Transfer forward became the most expensive in the history of Peruvian football at that time [1] [2] . but he did not perform there for long and at the end of 1961 ended his career. He himself said about this: “If I played for Universitario, I could calmly play for another three years ... because I felt the heat from the stands. With “Crystal” it was different ” [3] . For Sporting, the striker played 29 meetings and scored 13 goals [5] .
After completing a gaming career, Terry got a job as a football commentator [3] . He also starred in commercials and had a business related to football [4] . Terry died on February 5, 2006 of lung cancer [3] .
