Dina Nikolaevna Kuznetsova - opera singer (soprano). Biography and music career

Born in Moscow. Graduated with honors from the Academic College of Music at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory in piano. [4] She received her vocal education at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music (USA) with her teacher Mary Schiller. She studied vocals with Marilyn Horn at the Music Academy of the West. She completed a training program at the Ryan Opera Center [5] at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.

In 2002, Dina Kuznetsova made her debut in the Berlin Staatsoper in the part of Donna Anna in Mozart's “Don Giovanni”. Her stage partners were Rene Pape and Cecilia Bartoli . On the same stage, she sang Adina in Donizetti's Love Drink, where her partner was tenor Rolando Villason .

At the Glyndebourne Opera Festival in 2009, the singer successfully performed the part of Alice Ford in the production of the opera Falstaff J. Verdi (conductor Andrew Davis) [6] , and in 2011 she triumphantly performed the title role in Dvorak’s opera Rusalka (conductor Vladimir Yurovsky) [7] .

At the theater, the Lyric Opera of Chicago performed the main parts [8] in the performances “ The Adventures of a Cheat Fox ” by L. Janacek, “ Rigoletto ” by J. Verdi, “ Romeo and Juliet ” by S. Gounod. She performed the main parts in the Vienna State Opera - in the play “Romeo and Juliet” by S. Gounod, in the Bavarian State Opera - in the production of Handel’s production [9] , in the Royal Theater Covent Garden she performed Lauretta in the opera “ Gianni Schicchi ” [ 10] J. Puccini (conductor Antonio Pappano ).

One of the singer’s most favorite parts is Tatyana in the opera Eugene Onegin by P. I. Tchaikovsky. She performed this part in the Theater of the Lyric Opera of Chicago [11] , where Dmitry Hvorostovsky was her partner, at the Lille Opera (L'Opéra de Lille) [12] , at the Montpellier National Opera [13] , at the Florida Grand Opera [ 14] . In September 2012, she took part in the Grand Festival of the Russian National Orchestra (RNO) in Moscow, playing the part of Tatyana in the concert version of the opera Eugene Onegin, directed by Mikhail Pletnev . [15]

The singer successfully collaborated with the English National Opera. Her performance of the main part in Giaccomo Puccini's opera Madame Butterfly was highly praised by critics [16] and the public.

In 2015 and 2016 at the Bolshoi Theater she performed the title role in the opera Rodelda [17] by G. F. Handel (co-production of the English National Opera and the Bolshoi Theater). Rodelinda was awarded the Golden Mask 2017 award as the best opera performance [18]

From 2014 to 2017, Dina Kuznetsova participated in the performances of the Municipal Theater of Santiago in Chile under the direction of Konstantin Chudovsky . In this theater, she performed the main roles in the operas Rusalka Dvorak, Katya Kabanova and Yenuf Yanachek.

The singer’s chamber repertoire includes works by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Pulenok , Dvorak, Shimanovsky , Shostakovich . The singer often participates in the New York Song Festival [19] and the annual International Chamber Music Festival “Music @ Menlo” [20] in California, USA.

Dina Kuznetsova worked with many prominent conductors of our time, such as: Daniel Barenboim , Antonio Pappano , Vladimir Yurovsky, Gennady Rozhdestvensky , Vasily Sinaisky, Mikhail Pletnev , Vladimir Ashkenazi , Christopher Mulds, Konstantin Chudovsky .
