Biography
Viskardi Andradi was born March 8, 1984 in the municipality of Jalis , São Paulo State . He practiced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu , gaining a black belt in this discipline. He was trained in the Gracie Fusion hall [1] .
Beginning of a professional career
He made his debut in mixed martial arts on a professional level in May 2006. He fought in various Brazilian promotions, including performing in a fairly large organization, Jungle Fight - he emerged victorious from most fights, but from time to time in his career, losses also occurred. He met in battle with such famous Brazilian fighters as Charlis Oliveira , Leandro Silva and Iuri Alcantara .
The Ultimate Fighter
With 16 victories and only 5 defeats on the track record, in 2013 Andradi became a participant in the second Brazilian season of the popular fighting reality show The Ultimate Fighter . At the qualifying stage, by a decision of the majority of the judges, he defeated Thiago Gonçalves and was selected to the Fabriceu Verdum team under the fourth number. In a preliminary fight, the show met again in Gonçalves, replacing the injured Neilson Gomis, and this time won him by TKO in the first round [2] .
At the stage of the quarter finals, the titled BJJ master David Vieira successfully passed, but in the semifinals he lost by technical knockout to William Makariu .
Ultimate Fighting Championship
Despite losing in the TUF semi-final, Andradi still got the opportunity to sign a contract with the largest fighting organization in the world, the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and in August 2013 for the first time entered the octagon, having won technical Boutol Marunda by an American techout .
In February 2014, he met with the representative of Sweden, Nico Musoke , in the first round he had good chances to finish the match ahead of schedule, but then lost ground and was defeated by a unanimous decision. Next, he was supposed to meet with the organization’s newcomer Andreas Stol, but was injured and was forced to withdraw from the tournament, as a result of which matchmakers replaced him with another newcomer Gilbert Burns [3] .
Having recovered from an injury, in November 2015 he went into a cage against Russian Hasan Umalatov and beat him on points [4] .
In March 2016, he defeated Richard Walsh by unanimous decision [5] , but later it turned out that he had failed the doping test conducted a few days before the fight - traces of the anabolic steroid stanozolol and its metabolites were found in his sample. As a result, the fighter was suspended from the competition for a period of two years, and the result of the fight with Walsh was canceled [6] [7] . In May 2017, Andradi was fired from the UFC.
