Station Construction

By design, the Eastern Thermal Power Plant is a thermal gas turbine power plant with a combined generation of electrical and thermal energy. The installed electric capacity of the station is 139.5 MW, thermal power - 431.98 Gcal / h [1] . Natural gas from Sakhalin fields is used as a fuel. The main equipment of the station includes three gas turbines LM 6000 PF Sprint, manufactured by General Electric , three heat recovery boilers KUV-46.4-130, three peak hot water boilers KV-GM-116.3-150 and two steam boilers TT- 200 Electricity is supplied to the power system through a 110 kV complete switchgear (GIS) along the following power lines: [2]

  • CL 110 kV TPP Vostochnaya - PS 2R;
  • CL 110 kV Vostochnaya TPP - PS SI;
  • CL 110 kV Vostochnaya TPP - PS 1R;
  • CL 110 kV East Thermal Power Plant - PS 2R - PS SI - PS Green Corner.

History of construction and operation

The Eastern Thermal Power Plant construction project has been implemented since 2012, work directly on the construction site was started in 2014. The station’s facilities were built on the site of an outdated and inefficient Central Water Boiler Room (CCVB), whose facilities and equipment were dismantled in 2018. The construction cost of the station is more than 10 billion rubles, the construction was financed with own funds and loans from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) [2] . The station was commissioned on September 10, 2018.

The Eastern Thermal Power Plant provides with heat and electricity Vladivostok city, including the new residential districts “Snegovaya Pad” and “Patrokl”. The station supplies heat and hot water for more than 50 thousand apartments in the Pervorechensky and Leninsky districts of Vladivostok, and also covers up to 20% of the city’s need for electricity.
