Biography
He entered the service in 1852 after the end of the Noble Regiment and was promoted to lieutenant of the Guard and renamed the army warranties . In 1853 he was again promoted to warrant officer of the Guard, in 1854 he was promoted to second lieutenant of the Guard, and in 1855 he was promoted to lieutenant guard. Since 1855 he participated in the Crimean War .
In 1861, after graduating from the Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff on the 1st rank, he was promoted to headquarters captain with the appointment of a teacher of the Alexander Cadet Corps . Since 1862 he was appointed mentor-supervisor of the Alexander Cadet Corps.
In 1865 he was promoted to captain and appointed company commander of the Alexander Military School . In 1867, he was promoted to colonel with the appointment of chief of department of the General Staff of the Russian Imperial Army . Since 1876, the general staffing the General Staff. In 1878 he was promoted to major general . In 1888 he was promoted to lieutenant general . In 1906 he was promoted to general from infantry .
