Hydrography
It is one of the largest (1700 km long) rivers of Botswana. It flows out of the Tamalakan River in Toteng city . Then it flows in a northwest direction, forming the Gauts waterfall , flows east through Makalamabedi and turns south towards Rakopsy , and then flows through Lake Ksau and through Mopipi . The river draws water from the Okavango Delta .
Usage
Since the beginning of the 20th century, the Boteti River has been used by the local population to irrigate fields. Also, the waters of the river are used on the Mopipi Dam .
