Tuleshova, Danelia Alexandrovna

Danelia Tuleshova was born in Astana, but a few years later moved with her family to Alma-Ata ^[10] .

The girl has been singing since childhood. Her father was the first to notice her musical talent. He graduated from a music school in piano. The mother also has good vocal abilities, both have good hearing.

From the age of 3, Danelia successfully engaged in gymnastics ^{[11] [12]} , easily succumbed to stretch marks, but fell down the hill and received serious injuries, after which she recovered from 3 to 6 years old ^{[11] [13]} .

Then Danelia was sent to the developmental school of Lina Arifulina, where she was engaged in group vocals, ballroom dancing and acting classes every Sunday ^{[10] [13]} , while she was not individually engaged in vocals ^[14] .

In parallel, Danelia went to a dance studio, since 2016 she was actively engaged in street dancing and performed as part of the children's hip-hop band Kinder Boogie, winner of many festivals in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, under the direction of Alexander Filippov ^{[15] [16] [17] [18]} .

It was at the dances, according to the mother, that they paid attention to how Danelia subtly feels the music ^[12] .

Singing career

At the reporting concert of the stage school, Danelia sang the IOWA song “Smile”, after which Lina Arifulina sent the girl to the casting of the republican contest “Ayalagan Astana”, in which Danelia won the grand prix and the audience prize ^[10] . Mitya Fomin, who was present in the jury of the contest, after performing a cover of the song “ Smile ”, called the 8-year-old singer “the reincarnation of Marilyn Monroe ”, noting especially her artistry ^[19] .

In the same 2015, Danelia received the audience award at the “Children's New Wave” 2015 ^[20] .

After the “Ayalagan Astana” contest in mid-2016, parents gave Danelia a vocal teacher Natalya Alexandrovna Churakova, who seriously took up the vocal technique of the young singer ^[10] . It is noteworthy that Churakova first saw Danelia on TV in 2015, and a year and a half later the girl was brought to her to study. Moreover, Danelia was already able to sing, had natural vocal abilities and a good voice timbre. The vocal teacher had only to improve the voice supply and expand the singing range ^[11] .

As Natalya Churakova said: “It is a pleasure to work with such a child when you work in tandem, and do not force him to do something, because his parents so wanted” ^[12] .

After the first vocal lessons, Danelia performed with the song “Cosmos” ^{[21] [22]} as part of the dance group Kinder Boogie.

At first, Danelia’s mother was against her daughter’s singing career, insisted on studying at school, but after successes in “Ayalagan Astana” contests and the “European Hope” international competition, she reconciled ^[12] .

A great influence on the development of Danelia's vocal data was made by the teacher Zhanbol Tuleshov, who worked on diction and correcting point errors in vocals. And in May 2017, she passed a master class by the famous vocal teacher Maria Struve in Almaty, after which she made significant progress in vocals ^[23] .

Also announced in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Georgia ^{[12] [24]} with the songs “Rise Up” and “Other” ^[25] .

At the casting of the Kazakhstan show “Voice. Children ”Danelia didn’t get there, as she“ overslept and was late. ” ^[26] Then the teacher Natalya Churakova proposed to go to Kiev to “ Voice. Children ” ^[10] .

Danelia's father helped his daughter get rid of the accent in the English language, especially during the preparation of the song “Stone Cold”. In Kiev, Danelia practiced for 5 hours every day, “so as not to burn out”, the rest of the time was spent on walking around the city. Also, Danelia went to a Ukrainian language tutor to better sing on it. Danelia’s mother, a former makeup artist, helps her daughter look stylish at performances, and also participates in her daughter’s career as a driver and producer ^[14] .

In the video clip “Others,” Danelia starred with her younger brother and sister, as well as her team Kinder Boogie ^[10] .

At the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 , the 12-year-old singer Danelia Tuleshova took 6th place with a song in the Kazakh language “Өзіңе Sen” (Believe in Yourself), where Kazakhstan was first represented in a prestigious vocal competition ^[27] .

In March 2019, Danelia successfully passed several rounds of the international competition " The World's Best " (Best in the World) of the American television channel CBS. Jury Roux, who is on the jury, predicted the future of a superstar, and Drew Barrymore could not hold back her tears. Dimash Kudaibergen , who was to compete with Danelia and the Indian pianist Lidian Nadhaswaram in the semifinals , refused to participate so that “the children could continue on their way” ^[28] . The jury gave points to Danelia (48 vs. 44), but the audience voted for Lidiana (43 against 7), which is why Danelia dropped out of the fight, remaining in the top eight, and Lidian went to the finals and won ^[29] .

At the “Children's New Wave”, Danelia, along with singer Jasmine, sang the song “Take Care of Relatives”. The girl also sang along with singer Nyusha . In 2016, Danelia performed with the Russian singer Valeria at the concert “Christmas Song”, performing the song “Small Airplane” ^[30] . In 2018, she performed a duet with ZAZ ^[6] .

In 2019, Danelia combines vocals, studies in ordinary physics and mathematics and American schools ^{[10] [31]} .

In her free time she likes to make and edit videos, make slimes , draw and organize home concerts ^{[23] [13]} .

Among the favorite performers are Monatika , Jennifer Lopez , Beyonce , Miley Cyrus , Taylor Swift ^[32] , Ariana Grande , Sean Mendes , Nicki Minaj , Cardi B. ^[33] .

Father - Alexander Sergeyevich Tuleshov (until July 2018 - Deputy Chairman of the Board of the largest Kazakhstani insurance company “NSC” ^[34] ). Mother - Elena Tuleshova (housewife). Danelia has a younger brother, Timur, and a younger sister, Amelie. Grandparents actively participate in the upbringing of the singer. In each interview, Danelia emphasizes the role of a large family in her support.

The name Danelia (or as they most often write in the media according to the rules of the Slavic and Kazakh phonetics Danelia ^[4] ) comes from the Kazakh “grain” (dәn) and “people” (ate) ^[35] , and means “grain of the people” ^[13] . They wanted to give the child the name Danel, but they made a mistake when registering the birth certificate, so the result was a unique stage name ^[36] .
