Biography
Lord was born in Bristol , England. In collaboration with David Sproxstone , a friend of his childhood, he realized his dream of “make and shoot an animated film”. In 1976 he graduated from York University with a degree in English. He and Sproxton founded Aardman as a low-budget studio, producing short films and trailers for advertising. Their work was first shown on the BBC Vision On television series. In 1977, they created “Morph” an animated character with stop-motion technology from clay.
Lord, Park and Sproxton developed and refined their style of developed characters from clay animation with stop-motion technology. In 1991, the Lord animated Adam, a 6-minute earthen animation that was nominated for an Oscar. The park created the cortes pro Wallace and Gromit in collaboration with Lord and Sproxton. All three worked together as producers, editors and directors. In 2000, the Lord, together with the Park released the cartoon " Escape from the hen house ."
