Kazakhstani students for the first time took part in IMO ( IMO , English IMO, International Mathematical Olympiad ) - the international mathematical Olympiad in 1992, which was held in Moscow. Since then, schoolchildren from Kazakhstan took part every year, except for 1994. [1] In addition to the international mathematics competition, students from Kazakhstan also participate in similar competitions in physics, chemistry, biology, programming, geography, linguistics, etc. [2]
The competition in the country is very large and requires schoolchildren to go through many olympiads and training camps, sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan . Winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad have advantages when entering local universities, as well as when passing a single national test.
In 2010, Kazakhstan hosted IMO participants from all over the world on the basis of the Baldauren Republican Training and Health Center . In the same year, the team took a record 5th place in the ranking of the best teams in IMO. [3]
