History

The team was founded in 2015. In 2015-2016, it had the status of a continental , and since 2017, a pro-continental team of UCI.

The main goal of the team, its founder proclaims the promotion of the best Israeli athletes to the highest world level [1] . The team uses bicycles of the Italian company De Rosa .

After receiving the procontinental license for 2017 [2] , the team was staffed by 16 racers from 12 countries, five of which are the champions of their countries. The team also signed a contract with former IAM Cycling team director Kjell Karlström , who will use his experience to help the team work at a pro-continental level.

In 2018, the team intends to reach a higher level and become competitive in large races, for which it strengthened the composition and increased it from 16 to 24 racers [3] . The Belgian Ben Hermans , who previously played for the CCC Team [4] , Spaniard Ruben Plaza from Orica – Scott and Norwegian Sondre Holst Enger from AG2R La Mondiale , have moved from the UCI World Tour teams to the Israel Cycling Academy since 2018. The team also signed a contract with Colombian cyclist Edwin Avila , two-time world champion in the race for points on the track. In addition, it was assumed that from 2018 the Turkish rider Ahmet Orken , the champion of Turkey in cutting, the winner of the stages of the Tour of Qinghai Lake and the Tour of Serbia will also be on the team. However, he asked to be released from the signed two-year contract, saying that he would not be able to play on the team due to the growing political tension in the Middle East [5] .

The team received an invitation from the organizers to the Giro d'Italia 2018 [6] [7] .
