Owen Farrell ( born September 24, 1991 in Billange, Wigan , Greater Manchester , England ) is an English professional rugby player who currently plays for the Saracens club in London ( Aviva Premiership ). His father is , who played both rugby and rugby in England. Owen's preferred position is a wandering midfielder , but he also often plays center .

Early years
Owen Farrell began playing rugby league in his hometown at the age of eight for the team. [2] When his father, Andy, signed with the Saracens in 2005, the family moved to ( St. Albans , Hertfordshire ), where Owen began to practice rugby . [3]
Living in Wigan, Owen attended St. John Fisher's Catholic School. In Harpenden, Farrell began to study at the school of St. George. After completing secondary education, he entered the , where he studied business. [four]
Club career
Farrell's first professional rugby player match in his career on October 5, 2008 against the Llanelli Scarlets during the Anglo-Welsh Cup , in which the Londoners lost at home with a score of 17-26. The game took place 11 days after Owen was 17 years old and he became the youngest player in the history of English professional rugby ever to appear on the field. [5] His record was broken in November 2009 by of Leicester Tigers .
In the 2010/2011 season, Farrell signed a contract with Bedford Blues , playing in the country's second most powerful league, the Championship . However, he soon returned and played a decisive role in the final of the English championship against the Leicester Tigers , thanks to which the Saracens became champions for the first time in history.
In the 2014/2015 season, Farrell, along with the Saracens, became the champion for the second time, again making a big contribution to the victory of his team and becoming the best player in the final match against Bat Rugby .
The following season, Farrell won the title βPlayer of the Seasonβ and, together with the βSaracens,β won the 2016 European Rugby Champions Cup final. Subsequently, he was awarded the Top Points Scorer with 129 points scored during the tournament. [6]
In 2017, Farrell overtook as the clubβs top scorer, gaining 1,548 points over his entire career. In May 2017, Owen helped the Saracens make it to the semifinals of the English Championship and win the European Cup for the second time, earning the title of best European player of the year. [7] [8]
International Career
National Team
Farrell was invited to the national team at age 20, when the team was preparing to participate in the 2012 Six Nations Cup in Shanghai . [9] At that time, Owen was the youngest player on the team. He made his debut on February 4, 2012 in a game against Scotland . England finished second in the tournament, and Farrell finished it with 63 points in five games.
In the summer of the same 2012, Farrell was invited to the national team to participate in the 2012 summer tour in South Africa, during which he scored 18 points in three games. On December 1, 2012, he played against New Zealand in a series of autumn tests and scored a total of 17 points, thanks to which England achieved her biggest victory over the All Blacks. Farrell was nominated for the Player of the Year International Rugby Council , but lost to New Zealander Dan Carter .
In February 2013, Farrell helped the England team once again take second place in the Six Nations Cup . [10]
In the fall of 2013, after a break from participating in with the British and Irish Lions , Farrell returned to the national team and played a full 80-minute match against Wallabis , bringing victory to the British. [eleven]
Farrell did not participate in the 2015 Six Nations Cup due to a serious knee injury. [12] However, after recovering, Farrell was invited to the national team to participate in the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England, which for the British seemed unsuccessful. Having occupied only the third in Group A, the England team could not reach the playoffs.
In January 2016, Farrell was selected in the first squad as the new England head coach . Owen was selected as one of the three vice captains of the national team before the 2016 Six Nations Cup . Farrell played an insider center in all five England games during the tournament, winning his first major international trophy on the national team. Owen finished the tournament as the top scorer with 69 points, bringing his personal score for the national team to 412 and becoming the second player in the history of England by the number of points.
In the summer of 2016, Farrell played for the national team in the three-match series in Australia. England won the series 3-0, while Owen played a key role, becoming the player of the match in the third game and scoring 66 points in the round. [13] Farrell was nominated for the "Best Player of the Year 2016" award for the second time in his career.
At the Six Nations Cup 2017, Farrell played all 80 minutes in each player and helped England maintain the title, although she could not win the Grand Slam after losing in the last game in Ireland . The best match for Owen was the game with Scotland on March 11, 2017, when he scored 26 points. According to the results of the tournament, Farrell became the second in the list of scorers, gaining 63 points.
On March 10, 2018, Farrell, for the first time in his career, entered the field as England captain in a game against France at the Stade de France in Paris . Farrell did not miss a single shot against France in the match and defended himself well, but England lost. Owen later admitted to the media that the lack of discipline of the British cost them victory.
