“ Espoo Basket Team ” ( Finnish. Espoo Basket Team, EBT ) is a Finnish basketball club from the city of Espoo , which was founded in 1993 as a result of the merger of two local clubs [1] .

History
The basketball club appeared in the spring of 1993, when two basketball teams from Espoo, Espoon Akilles and EPS-Basket [1] [2] merged. "Achilles" has just climbed into the women's SM-series , EPS-Basket played in the 1st division [2] . EBT took the place of Achilles and played in the SM-series continuously until the spring of 2012. The best achievement of the Espoo Basket team is the silver women in the SM series in the 2003/04 season.
Starting from the 2004/05 season, EBT and played in the women's SM series as one team with the name “Espoo Team” ( Fin. Espoo Team ) [2] . The best achievement was the victory in the Finnish Championship and the the 2008/09 season. In the spring of 2012, EBT and Honka refused to participate in tournaments [3] , after which the Espoo Basket Team refused to participate in the top division of the women's championship, declaring the team in the 1st division [4] .
The club has about 600 players, of which 100 are in children’s teams, 300 in junior teams and 130 in adult teams. The club has 60 trainers, and about a hundred people of administrative and technical staff.
In the 2012/13 season, the men's club team was able to enter Division 1B, where the team also continued the following seasons [5] .
