Content
Format
The format of the tournament remained the same as last season . The matches of the Lithuanian Cup took place during one calendar year. A League clubs started the tournament with 1/16 finals. The winners of pairs at all stages were determined by the results of one match.
According to the regulations, clubs of the League A, League I and II are obliged to take part in the Lithuanian Cup. Clubs III, IV, and lower leagues, as well as veteran teams, had to submit applications by April 12th. After receiving the applications, the format of the tournament was determined.
In the 1st round 32 clubs participated, divided into 16 pairs by lot. The draw took place on April 20, 2018.
In the 2nd round 32 clubs participated: 24 teams from the 1st round (including the winners of 16 pairs) and 8 A League clubs. The draw took place on May 4, 2017.
The winners of the previous rounds participated in 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 and the final. The draw for the 1/8 finals took place on June 29, the quarter finals on August 14, the semi-finals on September 6, 2018.
Matches at all stages were held on the fields of clubs from the lower leagues. If there were teams from the same league, the owner was determined by the results of the draw.
