Biography

Born on August 12, 1895 in Narin. She studied at a trading school in Talsen , which she graduated in 1911, after which she graduated from the graduate school of the Institute of Library Studies at the GBL . During the Civil War, in the RSFSR, she was in charge of the publishing department and libraries of the Tsaritsyn Provincial Committee of the RCP (B.) . In 1922, she was elected director of the library of the Moscow Provincial Council of Trade Unions named after V.I. Lenin, then headed the Central Bank of the Textile Workers Union, the regional library of the Moscow Department of Education, the Central Bank of the Moscow Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs , headed the Department of Library Studies at the library complex of the Moscow Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs , and held the position of Deputy Director for Research MGBI . She held all these posts until 1933.

In 1934-1937, the deputy director of the institute founded by her, founded the Scientific Research Institute of Library Studies and Recommended Bibliography , in 1937 headed it and stayed in this position until 1940.

In 1943 she was hired by the People's Commissariat for Library and Bibliography and worked until 1946, leaving for the CPSU , where she held the posts of chief editor and deputy director for scientific affairs until 1951. In 1951 she was hired by the GBL , where she was elected deputy head of the scientific and methodological cabinet and worked until 1956. In 1956 she retired.

She died on January 8, 1985 in Moscow.

Her name is entered in the GBL Book of Honor.

The main scientific works are devoted to the practice of specialized libraries and the specifics of mass forms of working with readers. The author of over 80 scientific papers.
