Biography
Born in 1879 in Snack. After graduating from high school, he entered the University of Amsterdam , where he subsequently received a doctorate in theology and political sciences. The administration left a graduate specialist at his place and from 1908 to 1913 he worked as a librarian. In 1913, he was elected director of the library at the Commercial University in Rotterdam and worked until 1916, headed the public library in Amsterdam. In 1929, he was elected director of the library of the University of Amsterdam, while remaining the director of the public library in Amsterdam.
He died in 1966 in Hilversum.
