Biography
Alised was the son of the ruler of the Brihainiog Guilog ap Teudur , possibly born around 970 [2] . According to other sources, he was born around 930 [1] .
There are suggestions that he divided the Brikheinyog into six parts [2] .
During his reign, Bricheyniog fell under the rule of the most powerful Welsh state - Deheibart . In the 970–980s, Einion ap Owain , the son and heir of Owain Deheybart, may have captured Briceinog [3] . In response, King Hivel of Gwynedd, with the support of 4] in 980 and 981, made campaigns in Deheybart [5] [6] . Einion defeated them in Llanuenoge and in Brikheiniog [5] .
Dependence on Deheybart remained under the brother of Einion - Maredid (986–999) [7] . Some scholars have shown doubts that Maredid had influence in Powys and was the ruler of Brihneioga [8] . Although a historianCarey Mond suggests that Briecheinog at that time could be under the authority and control of Deheybart [9] . If this is so, then the next who controlled the territory of Briecheiog was Aidan ap Blegivrid , who, according to the Gwentian Chronicle, planned the war back in 994 [10] , and in 999 he led an army to Keredigion and captured the territory of Maredid for about 1000 years. [eleven]
It follows from the foregoing that Aliedd was not a sovereign ruler. It is not known when he died. He was succeeded by his son Grifid ap Alised .
