Biography
He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Tajik State University (now the Tajik National University) with a degree in applied mathematics (1978) and graduate school of the USSR Academy of Sciences (Moscow, 1984). He defended his thesis in 1985, and his doctoral thesis in 2004.
Scientific activity
The main areas of his research are simulation of the dynamics of freshwater ecosystems and the design of information and communication systems. He has over 300 publications, of which 14 are scientific monographs. Prepared 6 candidates of sciences as a supervisor.
He is one of the most productive authors of textbooks (25) of educational and methodological developments (30 curricula, 10 methodological developments) in computer science and information technology, both for general education and for higher education in Tajikistan. All school books on information technology were written by F. S. Komilov and his students. Directly under his leadership, the state standard of education and a new curriculum on the subject of information technology of secondary schools in Tajikistan were developed and adopted by the collegium of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan. In 2006, as a winner of the Community Connections program, a textbook authors competition, he completed a professional internship in Columbus, Ohio, USA.
He teaches lectures on computer science and information technology, as well as a special course on “Computer modeling of the dynamics of aquatic ecosystems”. Several times he was appointed chairman and jury member of international and national school and student olympiads in computer science.
The results of his scientific and methodological work were tested at international and national conferences, symposia, scientific seminars of universities and research institutes of Tajikistan, the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Iran, the USA and Germany.
