Biography

Alexander Akimovich Dyuzhikov was born on October 21, 1941 in the city of Rostov-on-Don . The father of Alexander Akimovich is a front-line soldier, Colonel SMERSH A, and his mother is a tutor [1] . In 1949 - 1959 he studied in high school [3] . In 1959 he entered the Rostov State Medical Institute at the Faculty of Medicine and Prevention, and graduated in 1965 . Teacher and mentor of Alexander Akimovich Dyuzhikov was Partekh Makarovich Shorluyan - surgeon , scientist , professor [3] [1] [5] . On the centenary of the birth of the famous Rostov surgeon P. M. Shorluyan , the book “Professor Shorluyan Partekh Makarovich: Strokes on the Portrait of a Surgeon, Scientist, Man” was published. The authors of the book are students of the professor: A. I. Maslov, I. I. Taranov, B. M. Belik [6] . There is a small passage in this book about P. M. Shorluyan and his student A. A. Dyuzhikov:

Partekh Makarovich chose talented students who were keen on their profession, trusted them, entrusting work to critical areas in the experimental laboratory. Student life at the department and in the surgical department practically did not freeze around the clock. After three or four o'clock in the afternoon a second wind appeared, and the boisterous activity of the department staff continued. Some students came on duty by the ambulance as orderlies, medical brothers. This allowed them not only to maintain their financial situation, but also to become involved in diagnostics, take part in operations, and subsequently become excellent surgeons, scientists, and healthcare organizers. Many students were given the opportunity, as circle members, to decide on the future profession: some went on duty to the hospital, others rushed to the experimental laboratory. Partekh Makarovich did not “play” with the students in the surgical circle, but worked with them seriously, as with future surgeons. This gave brilliant results in the shortest possible time. So, while still a student, Alexander Akimovich Dyuzhikov, having mastered the application of the vascular suture in the experiment with a special “stitching” apparatus, could participate on an equal footing in a complex operation performed for the first time at the department and, perhaps, in Rostov, Professor Partekh Makarovich Shorluyan, to remove the abdominal aortic aneurysm to the patient and replacing her with a prosthesis. The patient survived, he was "demonstrated" at the surgical community [3] .

Thanks to Professor P.M. Shorluyan, Alexander Dyuzhikov became interested in surgery, had already had sufficient practical experience and, after graduating from the Rostov State Medical Institute, was appointed head physician and surgeon to the Verkhne-Solenovskaya district hospital of the Bagaevsky district of the Rostov Region . He worked in this hospital from 1965 to 1967.

In 1967 he entered the clinical residency at the Department of General Surgery of the Rostov State Medical Institute and in 1968 he defended his thesis. In October 1968 he was drafted into the Soviet Army, served as the flagship surgeon of a submarine brigade in the Black Sea Fleet .

In 1970, after serving in the army, Alexander Akimovich worked in the city hospital No. 1 named after N. A. Semashko, the city of Rostov-on-Don and the Regional Clinical Hospital, a surgeon, head of the thoracic-vascular department, then headed the department of cardiovascular surgery. Dyuzhikov A.A. in 1976-1978 simultaneously held the position of chief surgeon of the Regional Health Department.

Alexander Akimovich defended his doctoral dissertation in 1980.

In 1980, Alexander Akimovich Dyuzhikov organized and headed the Rostov Regional Center for Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery, where he still works today.

He is the author of about 300 works on topical issues of cardiovascular surgery, including six monographs. Under his leadership, completed four doctoral and 9 master's theses, trained 25 highly qualified specialists in cardiovascular surgery [3] . Alexander Akimovich is a participant and organizer of conferences on cardiovascular surgery in the USSR and the Russian Federation [3] .
