Register a second and third level domain
Registration is allowed directly at the second level (free zone) and at the third level (restricted zone) with the indication of additional subdomains by categories. From 1995 to 2003, the .co.ae subdomain was used for commercial entities, but was transformed by UAEnic in 2003 for commercial use for second-level registrations. At the same time, for existing registrations in the .co.ae zone, it was allowed to renew registrations at the request of the owner. In 2008, when the .ae domain was transferred under the control of TRA (Telecommunications Regulatory Authority), a new policy was published in the field of the .co.ae subdomain, according to which it is intended only for local commercial companies, providing a site name that is directly related to the name of the company in the business field.
In general, the structure of subdomains looks like this:
- .ae - for companies, organizations and individuals;
- .co.ae - for companies;
- .net.ae - for network providers;
- .gov.ae - for government and ministries;
- .ac.ae - for colleges, universities, institutes and academies;
- .sch.ae - for general and private schools;
- .org.ae - for non-profit organizations;
- .mil.ae - for military institutions;
- .pro.ae - for professional purposes, .aeDA suspended registration in 2008;
- .name.ae - for individuals, .aeDA suspended registration in 2008.
You can register in the .ae domain only through one of the accredited registrars of the .ae zone.
