Minavand, Merdad

Merdad Minavand ( Pers. مهرداد میناوند ; born November 30, 1975 , Tehran ) - Iranian footballer , Iranian midfielder . He played for many Iranian clubs, in particular, for the Persepolis club, and also managed to play in Europe, in the Sturm Graz and Charleroi clubs.

Club career

In adult football, he made his debut in 1994 with performances for the PAS team.

During 1995-1998 he defended the colors of the Persepolis Club.

His game for the last team attracted the attention of representatives of the coaching staff of the club " Sturm " ( Graz ), to which he joined in 1998. He played for the team from Graz for the next three seasons of his career. Most of the time spent in the "Sturm", was the main player of the team, playing for the club in the Champions League at the turn of the century.

Subsequently, from 2001 to 2005, he played in the clubs " Charleroi ", "Persepolis", " Al-Shabab " ( Dubai ) and " Sepahan ".

He completed a professional gaming career at the Rakh Akhan club, which he played for from 2005-2006.

National team performances

1996 debuted in official matches in the national team of Iran . During his career in the national team, which lasted seven years, he played 67 matches in the form of the country's main team, scoring four goals.

As part of the team was a member of the Asian Cup 1996 in the UAE , in which the team won bronze medals, the Asian Cup 2000 in Lebanon and the 1998 World Cup in France .
