Cariorexis (from the Greek. Κάρυον - "nut, core" and ρέξις - "gap") - the disintegration of the cell nucleus into pieces. Karyorexis is one of the intermediate stages of necrobiosis : occurs after karyopiknosis and precedes karyolysis . In karyorrhexis, the cell membrane is destroyed, and the nucleic acids in the form of individual clumps penetrate into the cytoplasm of the cell. [one]
Causes and symptoms
The causes of damage to the cell nucleus can be various destructive factors of a physical, chemical and biological nature, ionizing radiation , intoxication , hereditary pathological diseases, infectious diseases, or apoptosis , as a result of which fragmentation of condensed chromatin occurs.
For karyorhexis characteristic:
- violation of the viscosity of the cytoplasm;
- destruction of cellular structures;
- termination of enzyme systems . [2]
