Biography
Born on September 21, 1894 in the village of Buchelishki, Prayer parish of the Kovno province. Lithuanian. Member of the CPSU since 1918.
Since 1914 - in military service, public and political work. In 1916 - 1955 - A participant in the Civil War, a defender of Petrograd from the White Guards, a participant in the liquidation of the Kornilov rebellion, a participant in the battles with German interventionists near Pskov, from 1919 on military-political work in the Red Army. Prior to his arrest, he was an assistant commander of the 1st Rifle Corps of the Leningrad Military District for political affairs, was arrested on June 30, 1938, and released on March 11, 1939. Since 1940 - at Soviet work in the Lithuanian SSR, first secretary of the Vilnius City Committee of the CPSU (B.), In 1943-1944. - Head of the personnel department of the headquarters of the Lithuanian partisans. In 1945-1955 - the military commissar of the Vinnitsa region of the Ukrainian SSR.
He was elected as a deputy of the Supreme Council of the USSR of the 1st convocation.
Awards: Order of Lenin, two orders of the Red Banner, medal "XX years of the Red Army".
He died on February 12, 1984 in the city of Vinnitsa, Ukrainian SSR.
