Route

The race started with a 4-kilometer prologue in Friborg . The first stage with a finish in Delemont proposed a suitable area for punchers with ascents that were climbed twice - 50 km and 20 km from the finish line. Its length was 6.19 km with an average gradient of 6.4% and a maximum gradient of 9%. The second stage between Delemont and Yverdon-les-Bains was more favorable for sprinters. Then followed a mountain cut with a length of almost 10 kilometers and a vertical difference of 781 meters between Ollon and the ski resort of Villar-sur-Ollon. The fourth stage started and finished in Sion and was the key in the struggle for victory in the overall standings. It included five lifts, three of which were of the first category and two of the second category. The last of them was located 30 kilometers to the finish line. The final leg between Mont-sur-Rolle and Geneva presented another opportunity for sprinters to compete for the stage victory. [3] [4] .
