Dmitry Alexandrovich Artsybashev (Artsybushev) (1803 or 1804 - 1831 ) - a member of the Decembrist society, the author of military-historical research.
He was brought up at the Moscow University guesthouse . He entered the service as a cunker in the Life Guards Cavalier Guard regiment - 27.2.1820, standard-cadet - 12.25.1820, cornet - 5.4.1823.
He was a member of the St. Petersburg cell of the Southern Society (1825), participated in the activities of the Northern Society .
On the day of the uprising, he was with a regiment in Senate Square . Arrested at his apartment in St. Petersburg on December 19, 1825; February 16, 1826 was delivered to the Peter and Paul Fortress and placed in the No. 1 Vasilievsky curtain. The Highest Commandment (11.6.1826), after holding another month in the fortress, was sent to the Taman garrison regiment.
He participated in the Russian-Persian and Russian-Turkish (1828-1829) wars, participated in the capture of Anapa , Bayazet and Erzurum ; He was awarded the silver medal for the Russian-Turkish war. In 1828 he was promoted to ensign. In October 1827, he began to write his notes on the history of the Black Sea Cossacks. He also describes the military operations in the Caucasus in 1828-1831, which he himself witnessed [1] .
In 1830 he was listed as second lieutenant of the Nasheburg infantry regiment , from the lists of which he was excluded, already with the rank of lieutenant , in an order dated November 11, 1831.
On December 6, 1830, D. A. Artsybashev received a two-month vacation to meet with relatives and arrange his affairs in the Tula and Moscow provinces. According to one version, returning from vacation with his two serfs in the city of Yekaterinodar, he became ill with malignant fever and died on November 11, 1831; He was buried there in a common grave. According to the version of the caretaker of the All Saints cemetery I. G. Fedorenko, Artsybashev was buried in section No. 5 of the All Saints cemetery in Krasnodar [1] .
