Story

When Dante’s death is confirmed, the chain of evidence to justify President Keene breaks up. To save the situation, Sol ( Mandy Patinkin ) has a plan to get Simon out of Russia. He turns to Carrie ( Claire Danes ), asking her to lead a team of operatives to complete the mission. Carrie refuses, as she has a custody hearing on her nose and needs to leave this type of job behind. Carrie visits Anson ( James D'Arcy ). They discuss the upcoming hearing and how to weaken Maggie’s case. Carrie notes that Maggie illegally treated Carry's bipolar disorder by delivering medicine and blood tests. Anson bursts into Maggie’s office, retrieves the appropriate medical records and delivers them to Carrie.

President Keene ( Elizabeth Marvel ) faces a rebellion from his cabinet, which insists on gathering enough votes to resort to the 25th Amendment and remove it from office. Only the vice president Warner ( Bo Bridges ) needs to sign up to complete the process. Senator Paley ( Dylan Baker ) meets with Warner to institute proceedings against Keane. Keen finds out about the meeting and fears the worst when she cannot contact Warner after that. She goes on the offensive, firing four cabinet members so that they cannot vote against her. Wellington ( Lainas Roach ) unsuccessfully tries to dissuade her, telling her that this will be political suicide, and will be exactly the crisis that the Russians tried to create.

At a custody hearing, numerous witnesses testify against Carrie's competence as a mother. Maggie ( Amy Hargreaves ) goes to the booth and speaks directly to Carrie; she claims that Carrie was born to do extraordinary things, but she is not able to give Franny the stable environment that she needs. Carrie agrees to abandon the custody battle and accepts visits every two weeks, deciding not to discredit Maggie through medical records. At Dante’s funeral, Carrie asks Saul if she can still lead the operation in Russia. He answers in the affirmative, and the episode ends with Carrie and Saul leaving in the car on a mission.
