Kayo maru

Kayo Maru ( Jap. 開 陽 丸 ) - was one of the first modern warships in Japan, a frigate having both a steam engine and sails. It was built in the Netherlands and took part in the Boshin War as part of the Tokugawa Shogunate Navy, and then as part of the Ezo Navy. It sank on November 15, 1868, in Esashi , Hokkaido , Japan [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] .
