Story

When Dante ( Morgan Spector ) wakes up, Carrie ( Claire Danes ) convinces him to talk more about his conspiracy with Simon Martin ( Sandrine Holt ) and the Russians. Dante tells her about the secret code - “Darwin loves Bitcoin” - the use of which is an alarm designed to warn Gromov's agents about the dissolution of their network. Saul tells Keane ( Elizabeth Marvel ) about a plan that pushes legal boundaries: translating code by compromising Twitter servers and violating U.S. citizens' privacy by tracking who posts confirmations in response to a tweet. Keen reluctantly agrees. Keen and Wellington ( Lainas Roach ) introduce Senator Paley ( Dylan Baker ) to the course of events, detailing the roles of Simon and Dante in a complex scheme to undermine the government, and the involuntary role of Paley in the trick.

Clayton ( Thomas J. Waits ) informs Gromov ( Costa Ronin ) that Dante was arrested and is now in the hospital. After Clint successfully launched a cyberattack, Gromov realizes that Dante is probably cooperating with the authorities. He calls his boss, Mirov ( Merab Ninidze ) to ask for help in getting into the hospital and killing Dante, but they only tell him to back off. Gromov ignores the order and meets Clayton in the hospital. Gromov then shoots at Clayton and drags him inside. When he hands Clayton to the doctors, he steals the ID card from one of the doctors. He uses the card to enter Dante's room.

Carrie goes to Maggie’s house to try to reconcile, but she learns from Bill ( Mackenzie Astin ) that Maggie is meeting with a lawyer to get custody of Franny. When Dante accuses Gromov of being poisoned, he denies this and tells Dante to call Carrie and ask her if she is to blame. Dante does just that and realizes that Carrie is lying to him, but nevertheless tells Carrie that Gromov is in the room with him. Gromov lays a pillow on Dante's face. Carrie, who at that moment took Franny out of school, decides to leave Franny at school, hurrying to the hospital, while nearly knocking Franny off with a car. Carrie seems to be getting a breakdown in the hospital, as she was flooded with thoughts about what she had almost done to Franny, and she was also flooded with memories of the death of Brody, Ian and Quinn.
