History
In the parish chronicle "The Parishes and Churches of the Tula Diocese," it is said that the history of the wooden Trinity Church has been known since 1784. This church was then located in the northern part of the city in Zakhlevnaya settlement (in common parlance in Zakhlevka). The church had two chapels : right in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow" and left - George the Victorious .
Due to the decay of the wooden church in 1835, a decision was made and permission was received to build a new stone one. According to the development plan, the place for construction was taken at the opposite end of the city not far from Streletskaya Sloboda, a mile and a half from the old wooden one. The construction started in 1837. Due to lack of funds the construction was delayed. In 1839, only the right-wing chapel was consecrated in the name of the Mother of God, Joy of All Who Sorrow. The left St. George Chapel was decorated and consecrated in 1861. And the church itself was decorated, painted and consecrated in memory of the former Zakhlevskaya, in the name of the Holy Trinity in 1865. In 1885 they built a stone three-tiered bell tower . In 1891 the iconostasis was gilded and wall paintings were updated.
From 1880, the Troitsky parish consisted of: the southern part of the town of Odoev, the village of Kakurenka ( Kakurina , Kokurniki), Zibrovo (Ziborova, Zaborovo) and the village of Lamipolozova (Navypoloz) (now located within the Odoev on the left bank of Upa ), whose Ilinsky church was attributed in 1880 to Troitskaya [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] .
