Biography

Nikolai Chelnokov was born in Novorossiysk in 1918. In 1922, his family moved to Moscow . After receiving school education, he enters the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of the Pedagogical Institute. She combines her studies with work as a senior pioneer leader in one of Moscow schools. In 1937 he entered the Kiev Artillery School and in May 1941 became his graduate with the rank of lieutenant [4] .

With the outbreak of the war, Nikolai Chelnokov went to the front, was a senior lieutenant. Injured. In 1943 he entered the Moscow Power Engineering Institute at the Faculty of Electrovacuum Engineering and Special Instrument Making. Participation in 3 and 4 courses, he was elected secretary of the party organization EVPF, worked as deputy secretary of the party committee of the institute. After graduating from MPEI, he began to engage in pedagogical work. In 1953-1954, Nikolai Chelnokov created a new course, "Fundamentals of Computing Engineering," and over time it turned into a course, "Fundamentals of Computer Applications," which was attended by students of all specialties at MPEI. He was one of the scientists who contributed to the organization of the Computing Center of MPEI in 1955. In 1962 he defended his thesis at the Department of Computer Engineering [4] .

He led the creation of the ACS MPEI on the basis of the EC MPEI in 1967 [3] . Nikolai Chelnokov led the Computing Center at MPEI for 23 years [5] .

Among his graduate students was V. S. Zubov [6] .

Nikolai Ivanovich Chelnokov was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, orders of the Patriotic War I and II degree [3] .

He died in 1985 [7] .
