Biography

I. A. Gostev was born on May 15, 1925 in Moscow. He graduated from the economic ( 1947 ) and directing faculties of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography ( 1962 , workshop of A. B. Stolper ) [1] .

He worked as a director of films at the film studio of documentary and popular science films Mosnauchfilm . He participated in the filming of bespoke films about the first tests of the atomic and hydrogen bombs in the USSR, about the atomic icebreaker Lenin , director of paintings on the first flights of Soviet cosmonauts [1] - “ The First Flight to the Stars ”, “ Again to the Stars ”, “ Star Brothers” ", For which he was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor .

He began his career in feature films as a director in M. Ershov 's film “ Native Blood ” (Lenfilm, 1964). He worked as a director in the paintings of I. Pyryev “The Light of a Distant Star ” (Mosfilm, 1965) and Yu. Chulyukin “ Royal Regatta ” (Mosfilm, 1966).

He shot film trilogies about guerrillas and military scouts: “ Front without Flanks ” (1975), “ Front Behind the Front Line ” (1977) and “ Front Behind Enemy Lines ” (1981), which were awarded several state awards.

The following feature films were shot by I. A. Gostev at the Mosfilm film studio as a director.

He died on March 25, 1994 . He was buried in Moscow at the Kuntsevsky cemetery .
