Career
In 2013, Gonzalez signed a contract with New York Mets as a free agent. Until 2017, he played in the Mets farm clubs. During his performances for Columbia, Firefly was recognized as the player of the month of the South Atlantic League in the spring of 2017 [1] .
On July 28, 2017, the Mets traded Gonzalez and Ricardo Cespedes to the Marlins for pitcher AJ Jay Ramos [2] . The season of 2017, he played in the “Jupiter Hammerheads”. After the championship, the Marlins included Gonzalez in the expanded team [3] .
On April 19, 2018, he debuted at Major League Baseball. In the regular season in 2018, Merandi played in eight games, one of which he started as a starting pitcher. In total, he spent 22 innings on the field with a transmittance of 5.73. After the season ended, Gonzalez was put up for draft rejection. On March 2, 2019, he transferred to the San Francisco Giants [4] .
