Biography

Lev Borisovich Masandilov was born on October 29, 1937.

In 1961 he graduated from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute. After graduation, he worked at the Department of Automated Electric Drive. He studied at the graduate school of MPEI. In 1966 he defended his thesis. Received the degree of candidate of technical sciences. In 1992, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic: “Theory, research and development of an asynchronous electric drive with special operating modes” [1] . Received a doctorate in technical sciences at MPEI. In 1996, Lev Borisovich was awarded the academic title of professor.

Research interests: theory of electric drives with induction motors, the use of asynchronous motors in industrial mechanisms, methods of controlling asynchronous motors.

Lev Borisovich Masandilov has about 50 copyright certificates and patents for inventions, is the author of about 200 scientific papers. Under his leadership at MPEI 21 candidate dissertations were prepared and defended (A. Galkin, “Investigation of a gearless electric elevator drive with a low-speed induction motor”, etc. [2] .).

LB Masandilov combines scientific work at the Automated Electric Drive Department of the Moscow Power Engineering Institute with teaching, lectures at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute on the course “Electric Drive and Automation of General Industrial Mechanisms”.
