Roman Polanski’s film Rosemary’s Baby and the Golem idea influenced his dream of becoming a director [1] . Dan's first full-length work was a horror movie and thriller 2016 Cloverfield, 10 . Trachtenberg was one of the three directors of The Totally Rad Show and a former co-director of Geekdrome. Both programs were hosted in Revision3. Trachtenberg is also the director of the 2011 fan and short film Portal: No Escape .
In the same 2016, Dan shot the episode Game Test for the television series Black Mirror .
Dan directed the first and first episode of the Boys series, which will be aired in 2019.

Directing
Trachtenberg directed commercials for Lexus , Nike and Coca-Cola . In 2003, he directed the short film Kickin . In April 2008, he joined Tight Films [2] , where he collaborated with Matt Wolfe on the set of Hellboy 2: The Golden Army .
In March 2011, Trachtenberg released a short film for BlackBoxTV entitled “More Than You Can Play,” starring J. Christopher, Sky Marshall and Ian Hamrick. Trachtenberg wrote an article with Mark D. Walker.
On August 23, 2011 Trachtenberg released the short film “ Portal: No Escape ” [3] , based on the video game Portal , which collected more than twenty-one million views. [four]
October 13, 2011 / Film announced that Trachtenberg will be directing a predatory science fiction film for Universal Pictures with writer Chris Morgan. [five]
In January 2013, iFanboy interrupted the news that Trachtenberg was directing the film adaptation of Y: The Last Man . [6] However, on September 25, 2014, Film announced that the film was canceled. [7]
On April 3, 2014, It Is It Cool News announced that Trachtenberg would direct a film for Bad Robot Productions called Valencia, which was later codenamed for Cloverfield, 10 [8] [9] . On January 15, 2016, a trailer for Cloverfield 10 was released. Producer JJ Abrams said of the film: “The idea arose a long time ago during production. We wanted to make her a blood relative of Cloverfield . The idea was developed over time. to keep the title as long as possible. " [ten]
On April 30, 2018, it was announced that Dan Trachtenberg would be filming the first episode of the Boys series, based on the Garth Ennis comic book series. Thus, he replaced Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg , who dropped the series due to planning conflicts [11] .
On January 14, 2019 Trachtenberg was declared the director of the film adaptation of the action movie from the Uncharted video game series [12] .
