Biography
Gavriil Georgievich Dubinkin was born on April 5, 1899 in the territory of modern Krasnodar Territory . In 1926 he graduated from the Medical Faculty of the North Caucasus State University , after which he was sent to Rostov-on-Don , worked as an ordinator of a surgical clinic, and head of a department of the Rostov Regional Hospital. In 1930 he moved to Smolensk , worked at the department of topographic anatomy and operative surgery of the Smolensk State Medical Institute. In 1936 he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of medical sciences, and in 1938 became a doctor of medical sciences.
On June 29, 1941, Dubinkin was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army by the Smolensk city military commissariat and sent to the front of the Great Patriotic War . Originally served as the leading surgeon of the 20th army , and since October of the same year - a surgeon in the sanitary department of the 22nd army . He supervised the surgical work of all medical institutions and units of the army, personally provided practical assistance to surgeons-surgeons. Under his leadership, the army surgeons wrote and published 23 scientific papers in just a year, conducted 4 military and a number of inter-hospital and hospital surgical conferences. Actively engaged in the introduction of new methods of treatment - for example, sulfidine therapy of wounds. February 22, 1942 in the battles on the Kalinin front was wounded. Later Dubinkin served as a leading surgeon and head of the evacuation hospital № 190 of the 2nd Baltic Front . He took upon himself the most difficult operations, often working for days without sleep and rest.
In January 1945, Dubinkin was recalled from the army for the restoration of the Smolensk State Medical Institute. Until 1971, he headed the department of general surgery, for some time he was vice-rector for scientific work at the institute. Engaged in the study of surgery of the digestive system, thyroid, cardiovascular system, urology, combustiology. In total, he has published over 70 scientific papers. Under the direction of Dubinkin 3 doctoral and 7 master's theses were defended. He was the founder of the Smolensk school of purulent surgery. At the same time he continued to remain a practicing surgeon, for some time he was the chief surgeon of the Smolensk region.
He died on March 8, 1974, was buried at the Bratsk cemetery of Smolensk.
He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree (10/20/1944), the Red Banner of Labor (10/27/1953) and the Red Star (09/16/1942), a number of medals, the Certificate of Honor of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR (04/01/1960).
