Coat of arms of Korop

The coat of arms of Korop was granted at the beginning of the XVIII century ^[1] (according to other sources - in the XVII century ^{[2] [3]} ). It is a vowel emblem , indicating the name of the city - a silver carp under a golden crown is depicted on a blue field ^{[1] [4]} . On the print of Koropskaya hundreds of 1733, a carp is floating in the center, floating up, and a crown on top. The image is complemented by two hexagonal stars and a floral ornament at the edges ^[5] . On June 4, 1782, the emblem was officially approved without significant changes - silver crucian carp (carp) is depicted on the azure field, above it is a golden crown ^{[4] [6]} .

In the 1865 Bernhard Köhne project, the eyes, fins and tail of the fish are red, the crown is described as noble. In the upper corner of the coat of arms there is a coat of arms of the Chernigov province . The shield is crowned with a city crown and framed by two ears of corn, tied with the Alexander sash ribbon ^[7] .

Under Soviet rule, the coat of arms of Korop was absent ^[1] . On May 24, 2001, by the decision of the village council, a coat of arms based on the historical symbol of the village was approved. The heraldic shield is placed on a decorative cartouche and covered with a silver city crown with three turrets ^[2] .
