Solovyov, Mikhail Nikolaevich (epidemiologist)

Mikhail Nikolaevich Solovyov ( May 29, 1886 , Yelets , Oryol province - March 28, 1980 , Kharkov ) - epidemiologist, full member of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR (since 1945), honored worker of science of the Ukrainian SSR (since 1946).

Biography

In 1904 he graduated from the Yelets men's gymnasium .

In 1911 he graduated from the medical faculty of Moscow University ; in 1914-1925 worked in Odessa (1920-1925 - employee of Odessa University and the Medical Institute).

In 1925-1931 - at the Kharkov Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology, from 1930 - professor at the Kharkov Medical Institute.

Contribution

Soloviev’s works (more than 70) are devoted to various issues of epidemiology, immunity, and the prevention of infectious diseases (in particular, cholera, malaria, childhood and intestinal infections), among other monographs and textbooks: “Smallpox and smallpox infection” (1932), “Epidemiology of diphtheria” ( 1932), Food. infections and intoxications ”(1935),“ Guide to epidemiology ”(1936),“ Epidemiology of measles ”(1938).
