The song, which received a mixed assessment of critics [1] [2] [3] , is widely known for its scandalous video clip [4] . The objects of satire are US President George W. Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair [5] [1] , whom Michael accuses of starting the Iraq War [6] .
The track was excluded from the American edition of Patience [5] . The single booklet contains a photograph of Bush and Blair in cowboy hats. [7]

Video clip
The video begins with a panorama of the White House . President George W. Bush is briefed on the current state of affairs in the country. Bush (depicted as a naive child) does not understand a word, so the general has to indulge in explanations on behalf of a handmade doll. The music begins, and George Michael enters the office (he does it through the toilet, which is a reference to the famous scandal with his participation) and dances with Bush and the general.
In the next scene, Michael (in the image of Homer Simpson ) suffers a number of inconveniences from his neighbor and his dog. The loud music from the neighbor’s house overflows the patience of Michael and his family , and he begins to hunt a dog with a water gun (but it turns out to be “shot” to her). Three transvestite versions of Michael (one of them dressed as Marge Simpson ) dance and perform backing vocals (despite the intervention of Jerry Halliwell ).
George Michael (as usual) walks to the front lawn of the White House, where Bush, in the company of Tony Blair, plays with a dog; Bush throws the ball, but Blair rushes to catch him, for which he receives a portion of affection from Bush. Continuing his walk, Michael enters Iraq , stepping on the hatch when Saddam Hussein launched a nuclear missile. The rocket along with Michael (a reference to the final of the 1964 film “ Doctor Strangelove, or How I Stopped Afraid and Loved the Bomb ”) flies to England and gets directly into the Blair’s bed; Sheri Blair is trying to get her husband's attention, but he is focused on Bush crawling onto their bed.
The next scene shows the images of George Michael of the Wham! , Faith and Older . Blair is preparing to catch another ball thrown by Bush, but the latter transforms into a rocket (referring to the Californication video), and it lands in the Michael / Simpsons house. Blair watches TV with his family. TV presenter Trevor MacDonald announces the start of World War II , Blair shrugs and switches to the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II . George Michael (with Philip Oka's hairdo from The Human League ) lands on the balcony of Buckingham Palace and dances with the queen and one of her corgi. Prince Charles tries to repeat the movements, but quickly breaks out of the general rhythm.
Michael walks between two armies of soldiers, ready to enter into armed conflict , putting flowers in the barrel (a reference to the protests against the Vietnam War ), then quickly undresses and jumps into bed to Sheri. She switches the channel to the World Cup ; in the frame, David Beckham and Paul Scholes warm up. Blair appears to suit the American football player , gives the ball the appropriate shape and throws it out. Pierluigi Collina shows a red card, and David Cimen is choked with tears.
Tony Blair “drives” a British island (with Ireland tied) closer to the United States ( mooring at the Statue of Liberty ). Michael dances in a cowboy costume, Blair and Bush join him for a while, leaving the site. Michael is joined by his clones in different costumes (allusion to Village People ). Bush and Blair go through the screen in a tango rhythm, and the song ends.
Return to the White House. George W. Bush liked the performance so much that he asked the general to repeat it. The general is in obvious displeasure.
The video was produced by the British satirical group 2DTV, who worked on ITV .
