Salnikov, Alexey Borisovich

Born in 1978 in Tartu (Estonia). Since 1984 he has been living in the Urals: first in the village of Gornouralsky, Sverdlovsk Region , then in Nizhny Tagil , since 2005 in Yekaterinburg . He graduated 2 courses of the Agricultural Academy, studied for one semester from Yuri Kazarin at the faculty of literary creativity of the Ural University . Pupil of the writer and teacher Yevgeny Turenko - organizer of Nizhny Tagil literary life.

He made his debut as a poet. It was published in the Literary Gazette , the magazines Ural Novy , Vozdukh , Ural , the almanac Babylon , and the issues of the anthology Modern Ural Poetry. As Vasily Chepelev noted, it is the experience of Salnikov-poet that underlies the subsequent success of Salnikov-prose writer ^[1] .

All-Russian fame with the release of the novel " Petrov in the flu and around it ", awarded the critical jury prize of the literary prize FNL .

Salnikov writes as perhaps no one else today, namely - as fresh as the first day of creation. At every step, he knocks the ground out from under the feet of the reader, shakes the vestibular apparatus, which has been trained by many years of reading “normal” books. All random signs met by influenza Petrovs in their morbid half-deliberation are assembled into a well-shaped structure without a single superfluous detail. Of all the cracks, such merry chton and infernal horror begin to trickle out, that Mamleev and Gorchev are dancing together, and Gogol and Bulgakov are applauding.
