Christine Sponring ( German: Christine Sponring ; born June 22, 1983 , Schwaz ) is an Austrian skier who has successfully performed in slalom , supergiant , combination and downhill . Biography
Kristine Sponring was born on June 22, 1983 in the city of Schwaz , Tyrol , Austria . She was trained in Verberg in the local club of the same name WSV Weerberg.
Since 1998, she has always been a member of the Austrian national team, participated in various competitions held under the auspices of the International Ski Federation .
In 2000, she performed at the World Junior Championships, where, among other things, she won a bronze medal in the downhill program. A year later, at similar competitions in Switzerland, she won the slalom, then made her World Cup and European Cup debut, attended the adult world championship in St. Anton , from where she brought the silver dignity award, obtained in combination - she let forward only the titled German German Ertl -Renz .
Thanks to a series of successful performances, she was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City . In the slalom I went the twentieth after the first attempt, but in the second attempt I did not finish and did not show any result. In combination, she also stepped aside.
In 2003, she performed at the world championship in St. Moritz , where she finished eighth downhill.
At the 2007 World Championships in Auray, she showed the sixteenth result in the super giant program.
Subsequently, she remained an active athlete until 2008. Over the course of her sports career, Sponring went up to the podium for various stages of the European Cup for a total of 14 times, including 12 stages. In one of the seasons it was the best in the final standings of downhill. She has more modest results in the World Cup - she has one silver and two bronze medals in her track record. He is, among other things, a three-time Austrian alpine champion.
She was awarded the silver cross of the badge of honor " For Merit to the Republic of Austria " (2001).
