Biography and career
She is best known for her role as Leela Fowler in Sweet Valley High, which she played from 1994 until 1996, before being replaced by actress Shirley Elliot. She is a graduate of Drake University, where she studied theater, graduated in 1992. She soon left Iowa to pursue an acting career. She was nominated for the Young Artist Award in 1997 for "Best role in a television comedy - guest role of a young actor" in the television series "Pearl".
After “Sweet Valley High,” Flanery continued to film. She appeared in the television series "The Boat of Love: New Wave", " Will and Grace ", " Sabrina is a little witch ", "The guy knows the world" and " Two and a half people ."
Since August 8, 2009, Flanery has been married to composer Brandonom Christie.
