Vyacheslav Georgievich Petukhov (born October 25, 1960 ) is a Russian scientist in the field of space flight mechanics and spacecraft motion control, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2016).

Scientific Activities
He is an expert in the field of space flight mechanics and optimal control of spacecraft motion, the author of 121 scientific papers, including 1 monograph and 1 patent.
Main scientific results:
- a set of continuation methods has been developed for solving problems of optimizing the interplanetary and interorbital trajectories of spacecraft with electric rocket propulsion systems;
- investigated the fundamental laws of optimal trajectories and optimal control programs for spacecraft with electric rocket propulsion systems;
- developed a stable, close to optimal orbital motion control method with feedback for spacecraft with electric propulsion systems;
- effective methods have been developed for joint optimization of the trajectory and basic design parameters of spacecraft with electric rocket propulsion systems.
He conducts teaching at MAI, where he lectures on the theory of motion and the design and ballistic analysis of spacecraft.
Awards
- The Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology (as part of a group, in 2015) for the development and introduction into industrial production of the unified high-energy space platform Express 2000 and the creation on its basis of modern, competitive communications and telecommunications spacecraft [3 ]
