Sisters 'Islands ( Eng. Sisters' Islands , Malaysian. Pulau Subar Laut , Chinese. 姐妹 岛 , there. சகோதரிகள் தீவு ) - two islands in Singapore , located south of the island of Singapore in the Strait of Singapore . They are known by their Malay names as the islands of Subar Laut (Elder Sister Island) and Subar Darat (Younger Sister Island) [1] . Separated by a narrow but deep channel, the currents in which are dangerous for swimmers and scuba divers. You can get to the islands by ferry from Marina South Pier Pier [2] .

Legend
According to legend, once upon a time a poor widow lived on the coast of Singapore , who had two daughters. Their names were Mina and Lina. The sisters loved each other very much and made a promise to marry two brothers so as not to be separated and to live together forever. Once Lina walked near the sea. She met a gang of pirates , whose leader fell in love with a girl and decided to marry her. Early in the morning, the pirates abducted Lina, took them to their ship and drove away. Sister Mina wanted to save Lina and sailed for the ship, but drowned. Lina escaped from the pirates and rushed after her sister into the sea. The next day, in the place where the girls drowned, two islands appeared, and they were named after the lost sisters [3] .
Present
Today, these two islands are an attractive tourist resort . For visitors equipped beaches offering many different activities. Off the coast of the islands are a variety of coral reefs , in which fish , crabs , mollusks , seahorses and octopuses live. Javanese macaques live on the islands [1] .
