Ichthyolesta [2] ( Latin Ichthyolestes , from ancient Greek Ίχθύς ληστης - fish thief) is a genus of extinct ancient cetaceans from the Pakicetidae family who lived during the Eocene ( Luthetian century [1] ) in the northern part of modern Pakistan [3] . Includes a single type species - Ichthyolestes pinfoldi [1] .

Ichthyolesta, the oldest known representatives of the family Pakicetidae, since the size of their semicircular canals in the inner ear are the same as that of the nearest living relatives of cetaceans - pedigree , while their later relatives and now existing cetaceans, the sizes of semicircular canals are reduced and reduced [4] .
