Derechy, Evgeny Grigoryevich

Evgeny Grigoryevich Derechey was born in 1888 in the metro station Ratno Kovelsky district of the Volyn province. He received higher technical education, in 1913 he graduated from the institute. He worked as an engineer at the Kolchuginsky plant until its closure in mid-March 1918. Published in the newspaper “Voice of Labor” (No. 24, 28 (15). 03.1918) a note on the events at the Kolchuginsky plant that led to its closure.

After the closure of the plant, E. G. Derechay went to work on the board of Gospromtsvetmet, and from the very first day he began to work here to ensure that the plant in Kolchugin was opened. He managed to achieve this largely thanks to the support of S. N. Vankov , the chief engineer of the board, who knew well the capabilities of the plant. The idea of ​​immediate opening of the plant was supported by the chairman of the board N. A. Kalmykov, who, even before the revolution, taking advantage of the position of the head of a private commercial non-ferrous metal production company, had concentrated large stocks of raw materials at the Kolchugin plant (the “Kalmykov stash”) ^[1] .

Since the 1920s, he has been teaching at the Moscow Mining Academy , taught the course "Technology of Metals". In 1923 - Secretary of the Metallurgical Faculty of the Academy, since 1925 - Deputy Dean of the Metallurgical Faculty, who was then N.P. Chizhevsky . In 1926 - head of the metallurgical museum of the Moscow State Academy. He served as a member of the board, member of the board, member of the presidium of the metallurgical faculty. In 1930-37, E. G. Derechay created and headed the department of foundry processes at MITsMiZ, a professor since 1930. Under his leadership, the department created technological processes for the production of ingots and shaped castings from bronze, brass and aluminum alloys. The monograph “Production of non-ferrous metal alloys” ^[2], which he wrote, contributed to the solution of this problem.

Organizer of non-ferrous metallurgy enterprises in the USSR, an active participant in the implementation of chain-aluminum in production ^[3] . He held the position of chief engineer of the Main Directorate of Non-Ferrous Metals, in this capacity he was invited to the meeting on the development of non-ferrous metallurgy enterprises in the Kremlin to IV Stalin , about which there is an entry in the books of account of visits dated June 20, 1934 ^[4] .

He was arrested by the NKVD of the USSR on January 4, 1938 ^[5] on charges of “being a member of an anti-Soviet organization and was associated with intelligence agencies of a foreign state. According to the instructions of the anti-Soviet organization and one of the foreign intelligence, he carried out wrecking in the non-ferrous metallurgy of the USSR. ” Signed for repression in the first category (shooting) in the list of "Moscow Center" dated March 5, 1938 for 218 people, No. 55, according to the recommendation of the beginning. 8th department of the GUGB NKVD V.E. Sentenced by the VKVS of the USSR on March 19, 1938 on charges of participation in an anti-Soviet terrorist organization. He was shot and buried at the Kommunarka training ground (Moscow Region) on March 19, 1938 ^[7] .

E. G. Derechay was rehabilitated on April 25, 1956.
